BIOGRAPHY

Ellen Rosner (b.1955 Chicago IL.)  

 

I am a color pencil artist who enjoys looking deeply into the marvelous world around us. My background has been in photography, watercolor and I have a BFA degree in weaving and textiles. My love of travel has brought me to fifty countries. Experiencing new places extend to both my love of life and lets me document my world view  And from the photos of my travel I now can leisurely look deeply into them and discover their secrets that become my color pencil drawings. The same goes for colorizing old vintage photos I’ve collected. This becomes a meditative act to find the nuance of nature or the personality of a portrait that I can then share with you, the viewer.
